Red Fox Kits Play-Fighting, Ottawa

Two red fox kits rise up to play-fight, paws locked and mouths open, backlit in the Ottawa area. A black-and-white wildlife print.

Play-fighting is how they learn: who’s faster, who’s stronger, where the boundaries are.

Unbaited and unstaged, photographed by Ottawa wildlife photographer Tanya Heins.
